It is my tremendous pleasure to tell you that I've been given the opportunity to go to Malawi, Africa this summer with Arcola Covenant Community (ACC). Our team of eight will be sent to serve the people of Malawi from July 1 - July 13, 2012. During this time, we will be teaching and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ through Vacation Bible School, providing training for local pastors, and providing clean water to various villages through our continued water pump ministry.
Last summer, I watched a video that a member from ACC took while serving in Malawi: it showed a part of the water pump ministry, and clean water was sloshing out of the ground. All of a sudden, a spring of water burst from the ground and showered the vicinity with glistening drops of fresh water. I was brought to tears, not only because of the wonderful reminder of Jehovah-jireh--God our provider--but because what I saw was a wellspring of hope in that land. I knew from that moment that I wanted to be part of this movement that the Holy Spirit is leading in Malawi. My heartstrings are already being tugged for the children, and I am also excited to see in what ways God will stretch me and use what little I know to shine His light to many.
I ask that you will partner with me to make the hope that I saw into a reality this summer, both in funds and in prayer. The cost of the trip is approximately $2,500 for each member, which will cover the cost of airfare, lodging, and food. More importantly, before, during, and after the trip, I will keep the physical land of Malawi, its people, and my team members in my prayers. If not financially, I ask that you will please join me in prayer.
