Dear ________,
Hello! :D It may seem random and unexpected to receive a letter rather than a phone call or text, but I felt a letter might be more personal. I am addressing a letter to inform you about an opportunity that was granted to me through the grace of God. I am blessed with the chance to attend Hopi Arizona Missions this summer with Arcola Covenant Community located in Paramus, New Jersey. We will be flying into Polacca, Arizona for an entire week where we will have two ministries. The first one will be Vacation Bible Study (VBS) and the second manual labor. Our focus group in these two ministries is to work with the Hopi Native Americans and have the children believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. However, my teammates and I cannot accomplish this task alone because just as God sends His children to plant seeds, He also has his children help send missionaries into the field. Without the help of supporters, it will be difficult to plant, sow, and reap seeds into an area that is spiritually dry and in desperate need of the Word.
The cost of the trip is $600 and covers all expenses such as food, shelter, transportation, supplies, and etc. My team and I will be departing on June 1 and returning on June 8. I am hoping that you may be able to support me financially and through prayer for our team’s well being, fundraising, and increasing strength to carry out God’s Word wholeheartedly. Any type of support and encouragement will truly help us in reaching closer to our goal. If you would like to support, please visit our Arcola Covenant Community website at http://donate.arcolacovenant.org/hopi2012 to donate support online. If not able to, you may reach me personally through my cell at (201) 895-9434 or email ahyoungh@gmail.com. However, support online may be the fastest and most accessible way. If you would also like to support through prayer, please keep these in mind before and during our stay in Arizona.
Prayer Requests:
1) My heart will not grow weary, but stronger to fulfill God’s work in Arizona.
2) Despite the hot, dry weather and the long traveling added to the physical work we must do, we will be strengthened everyday by the Holy Spirit.
3) God may provide for us financially, spiritually, and physically. He may protect us from harm to and during our stay in Arizona.
4) To be faithful and trust that God will carry us through in all aspects.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” (Romans 12:12)
“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” (2 Chronicles 16:7)
“This is what the Lord says – Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” (Isaiah 48:17).
In Him,
